Prior to joining Heenan Blaikie, Mélina Koubemba worked in Île-de-France, France, with the Litigation department for the Legal Services division of the Italian Group Saipem s.a., a subsidiary of Italian public oil giant Eni (Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi).
Additionally, Mélina completed a seven-month articling term with the firm of Herbert Smith LLP in Paris, a four-month stint at Ernst & Young FFA in Libreville, Gabon, and spent one month with the Maurel & Prom oil group in Paris.
In connection with her functions, Mélina was able to familiarize herself with the OHADA (Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa) law and projects in the Energy – Mines – Oil and Gas sectors.
