19/04/2010 - Yvan Bolduc and Max R. Bernard awarded the title of Emeritus Lawyer

Heenan Blaikie congratulates Max R. Bernard and Yvan Bolduc, partners with the firm who are recipients of the Québec Bar’s title of Emeritus Lawyer (Ad. E.) in 2010. Awarded annually, this honorific title recognizes the excellence of members with remarkable achievements. The number of Emeritus Lawyers is limited to 2% of total membership in the Québec Bar.

Max R. Bernard, Ad. E., focuses his practice on commercial litigation, construction law, real estate, securities brokerage and banking. He has handled various types of commercial and contractual claims and shareholder remedies. Additionally, he has acted for securities brokers and negotiated construction contracts including agreements with professional consultants. His expertise in real estate law extends to development, financing, work-outs, management and leasing. In the banking field, he has been involved in work-outs and insolvency proceedings.

Yvan Bolduc, Ad. E., focuses his practice on civil and commercial litigation and has particular expertise in professional liability and defamation matters, as well as administrative and constitutional law. Recognized for his extensive experience in high-profile trials, Mr. Bolduc has played a pivotal role in leading teams that have argued some of the most outstanding court cases in the legal arena. He acted as lead counsel for the Commissioner of the RCMP in the Airbus case as well as for the then Quebec Premier Lucien Bouchard, and former Premier Jacques Parizeau, in a libel case whose merits were confirmed by the Court of Appeal in 2003.
