We are pleased to announce that Managing Intellectual Property magazine has named Heenan Blaikie the 2010 Canadian Firm of the Year-Patent Contentious. The Managing Intellectual Property awards follow the magazine's annual IP survey which recognizes firms that have demonstrated outstanding performance, based on independent research and peer evaluations. The award recognized Heenan Blaikie's patent group's trial victories in Sanofi-Aventis v. Novopharm (ramipril) - Jonathan Stainsby, Bill Mayo, Mark Edward Davis, Lesley Caswell and Keya Dasgupta - and Eli Lilly v. Novopharm (olanzapine) - Jonathan Stainsby, Andrew Skodyn, Andy Radhakant and Neil Fineberg.

Heenan Blaikie had also received in 2008 the award for Canadian Patent Case of the Year from Managing Intellectual Property magazine.
