Matthew Diskin An associate in Heenan Blaikie’s Litigation group since 2005, Matthew Diskin focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and administrative law.
Matthew also has a varied litigation practice, which has afforded him the opportunity to appear before various boards and administrative tribunals (such as the Copyright Board of Canada, the Ontario Highway Transport Board and the Ontario College of Pharmacists) and all levels of the Ontario courts. Matthew has also successfully appeared before both the Court of Appeal for Ontario and Federal Court of Appeal. He has also appeared on and participated in, successful judicial reviews of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal as well as of the Canada Border Services Agency.
Having served for two years on the Queen's University Senate Information Technology Committee, Matthew developed a keen interest in technology and the law. Now, he is a regular contributor to lawsof.com, an e-business, privacy & technology law journal.
While attending law school, Matthew served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Queen's Law Journal. A student-run publication with a well established international readership, the QLJ is among Canada's most highly respected law journals. Upon graduation Matthew received the Osgoode Society Prize, awarded to the top-fifteen graduating law students in his class. Education
